Seroids

The video we watched in class, the 20/20 video: You can't even talk about it, was very interesting. One segment was about Steroids and if we should let people use them or not.I think its wrong that Miss California got to get implants when no one else did. Its cheating. I don't think that you should not use steroids because it is unhealthy and there are deadly side effects, all drugs have side effects. I think people should not use steroids when there in sports. It is not fair! Some people work really hard to get really good at a sport and some people can cheat and use steroids. Athletes who use steroids don't know how good they could really be. They don't feel as good when they accomplish something as they would if they do it on their own.

Obama Coming to ND

Notre Dame asked President Obama to speak at their graduation ceremony. A lot of Catholics don't like this and want him not to come. Catholics think he shouldn't speak because he is pro-choice and that's against their believes.

Notre Dame has had other presidents come and speak like George Bush. They didn't object to Bush even though he supports the death penalty. I don't think that's fair. Abortion and the death penalty are both killing and that's not right. If they don't want Obama to speak, they shouldn't have wanted Bush to talk.

Guns on Campus?

Ball State University, Indiana University, and Purdue University students are protesting. The students of these three Universities wore empty gun holsters to school. They want to be allowed to have guns on campus.I think this is definitely wrong. They do not be able to bring guns to school. If they say its for they're protection, that's not true. If no one else at school had a gun then they wouldn't have to worry about it. I would not feel safe at a school that allows guns and would be very scared knowing that a classmate of mine is wearing a gun. The fights that would happen there would not be beatings, they would be shootings. A lot of people would take advantage of others and force them to do things by just putting their gun to someones head. It would just be chaos and personally I think the world would be a better place without guns. It wouldn't be so easy to kill someone.

Terrorism

Terrorism in the Middle East is on the rise. Muslims hate Jews and Americans and think they are evil. They slander and make fun of us. Even their local newspapers have disturbing cartoons of our leaders. This religion is now teaching violence, not peace. They are teaching that suicide attacks are right and that killing themselves and others will please their god, Allah. They are now teaching their kids to hate Jews and Americans. They teach them horrible sayings and tell them to say it every night before they go to bed. Little three year olds are even saying that Jews are pigs.I think we should be very concerned about their actions. We have seen what they can do. We had to endure the 9-11 attacks and I believe they will get worst. The next generation of Muslims will be very scary because they are being taught to hate and kill. I think we need to do something about this.

Dominos

In North Carolina, there was an incident that happened at a local Dominos. Two employees made a YouTube video that had very serious consequences. The female employee filmed the male employee doing disturbing things with the food. He stuck cheese up his nose and then put it on a sandwich. The female employee said that sandwich will be shipped to some “unlucky” customer who doesn’t know that snot was in it. She also filmed the male employee farting on the salami and putting in on the sandwich. The male employee also put a sponge down his pants and then washed the dishes with it. She again joked saying that it would go to a customer and also said, “That’s the way we do things at Dominos.” They said it was just a joke and none of the food went to customers but I wouldn’t be so sure. They just said that after they got in trouble for the video.I think this is really wrong of them to do and quite disgusting. I’m glad they got fired and I hope that it goes on their record so if anyone wants to hire them they would know about this. I think that it might be good to even arrest them because they ruined that Dominos business and in fact it affected the Dominos all over the state. Most people who heard about it only know that it’s in North Carolina. I don’t know what they expected to happen after they put the video online for the whole world to see. I guess they just wanted attention. If they decided to put that video on YouTube, they have to face the consequences.

Girl Wears Tux? (Week 9)

Lebanon Senior girl who is a lesbian wants to wear a tux to Prom. First Lebanon Schools said no, but after the girl filed a lawsuit last week, they will now allow her to do so. They didn't want her to wear it at first because they didn't want boys to start wearing dresses. They didn't want the Prom to turn into a circus. I'm glad they changed their mind. I think everyone should wear whatever they want. A tux would be more modest than an evening gown anyway. And as long as everything that needs to be covered is covered, I have no problem with a guy wearing a dress.

Sexing (Week 13)

Sexting is sending pornographic pictures and videos on cell phones. This has even been common with younger teens lately. It usually starts with a girl sending a picture of herself undressed to her boyfriend thinking he will be the only one that sees it, but he sends it to all his friends. It spreads fast and when the girl finds out she is mortified. In some cases the humiliation has lead to suicide or attempted suicide. This is very serious and I think it has to be stopped. In some states, these teenagers are facing charges as sex offenders which could ruin their future. I think they should be arrested and spend the night in juvenile to scare them and others in hopes of putting an end to it.

What Would You Do 2 (Week 12)

On the show “What Would You Do,” they did an experiment to see how people would react if they saw two homosexual men on a date at a bar. They also had another heterosexual couple at the other side of the bar and a rude man who thought the two men were disgusting. When the two men were just enjoying themselves and keeping it G-rated, the rude guy was making fun of them and making a scene. The people stuck up for the gay couple. The got angry with the rude man and threw him out. The show thought that maybe the people in the bar might get mad at the gay couple if they were all over each other and kissing. The heterosexual couple was now pointing out the other couple and saying how wrong it is. Some joined in but most didn’t. The rude guy was still being rude. One of the women by the rude guy got really mad. She got really mad at him. She said that she has many gay friends and he was acting very inappropriate. She stuck up for them.

"What Would You Do" (Week 11)

On the show “What would you do,” they did an experiment to see if a lady fell down on the street, would anyone help her? Right away she was helped and they called 911. A few people just walked away but mostly everyone that saw her stopped and helped. When they replaced the women with a homeless man, people didn’t really stop but a few did. However, when they switched to a homeless man with a beer in his hand, no one stopped except one crippled lady with a very big heart. She had been homeless too at times. She didn’t have a phone so she asked people walking by to call for an ambulance. No one even looked at her. She threw away his beer can thinking that would help but still no one stopped. Then finally one woman walked by and called 911. She saw on the news that this happened to a homeless man in Washington. The man was beat up and hit his head on a car and was lying there for a long time before someone called 911 but it was too late. He died of his injuries. She didn’t want this man to end up the same way the man in Washington. The crippled woman gave him a name, Billy. She built up a personal relationship with this stranger. More people decided to help after she called 911. A man tried to make a pillow for him. When the crippled woman knew he was ok and this was all a skit she left. They tried to find her but the address and phone number that she gave them was wrong. Eventually they did find her and helped her. She was paralyzed it turns out. It just shows if you help someone, you’ll get help in return.I hope that I would have the decency to call 911. How long does it take to just dial three numbers? You can save a person’s life. It’s so easy to get involved but most do not. The homeless man is a human being just like us. God made him the same way he made us. It’s not fair to just help the woman but not the homeless man. That’s discrimination. The people walking by thought that they were too good for them. They aren’t in heaven yet.
